An Advent workshop took place in Deszk on 11 December 2024, where children and adults came together to prepare for Christmas. In fact, the activities had already begun earlier, with the collection of plants for the handhandcrafts and the preparation of gingerbread biscuits, which they kneaded and baked together. 

At the start of the session, they recalled the traditions of the Advent period and Christmas, discussing both surviving and vanished customs, as well as the daily life of folk communities in the run-up to the holidays. Following this, one group of participants created table centrepieces using the gathered evergreens and the candles they had previously hand-dipped together. Meanwhile, the other team "dressed up" the gingerbread biscuits with royal icing. 

The groups then swapped activities, all while singing Christmas carols. Everyone showed great creativity, resulting in beautiful pieces that will decorate their homes—provided they are not eaten before then.
