At the end-of-January workshop, the children discovered the folk traditions associated with Epiphany, specifically the customs of star carolling (csillagozás, csillagjárás).

Epiphany marks the end of the Christmas season and the beginning of the Carnival period (farsang). The workshop also covered the concepts of baptism, the blessing of water, and significant weather-forecasting days (such as Saint Priscilla's or Saint Vincent's Day).

The discussion was followed by the handhandcrafts session, which the children thoroughly enjoyed once again. They stuffed the pre-prepared stars, stitched the edges closed, and attached the hangers and bottom tassels. They were free to decorate the centres with glass beads, and they glued white buttons onto the points of the stars.
