In mid-February, the Subotica-based Talentum Talent Development Arts Association held its now traditional Carnival Dance House (táncház) and costume party.

The Hungarian project partner, the 'BÁNÁT' Association, was also invited to the event.

Participants took part in folk dance instruction, showcased their costumes, and a jury rewarded the most creative outfits with prizes. A fantastic atmosphere was ensured by the Duhaj Band. The young musicians not only enriched the programme with their music but also prepared an exciting instrument demonstration.

The morning programme was primarily tailored for the youngest attendees, kindergarteners, and primary school pupils. Alongside the dance instruction, they discovered various Carnival songs and customs. During the costume competition, a six-member jury evaluated the entries, giving preference to unique, homemade outfits. Both the children and their parents truly outdid themselves, with no shortage of imaginative ideas. The best contestants returned home with certificates and small gifts.

The evening was dedicated to the older youth, who enjoyed a thrilling Carnival celebration as part of a fancy-dress ball.

One of the sweetest moments of the event was the Carnival doughnut feast, as custom dictates that doughnuts and strudels must be eaten during the Carnival period to ensure that rooftops remain securely in place during storms.
