Talentum Art Association Children and Youth Folk-Dance Camp (4 July 2025)
The now traditional Talentum Children and Youth Folk-Dance Camp, organised for the 13th time this year, was once again hosted at the Túrú Farm in Horgoš.
The one-week camp attracted 198 participants this year, travelling from Subotica, Deszk, Novi Sad, Kanjiža, Senta, Novi Bečej, Feketić, Békéscsaba, Szarvas, Szentes, Gyula, and Mórahalom.
The participants were divided into three age groups. Each day of the camp, an intensive rehearsal process took place under the guidance of acclaimed instructors. By the end of the week, every group had developed their choreography as follows:
Instructors, dance material, and age groups: Anikó Cseszák Korcsik and Balázs Cseszák (Bečej): Dances of Bukovina
Gerda Nagy-Marosy and Tamás Józsa (Hungary): Dances of Bodrogköz
Nóra Kovács-Gál and Antal Németh (Hungary): Dances of Hajdúság
During the instruction, great emphasis was placed on allowing the children to fulfil their potential and to dance freely, as this is essential for artistic expression and ensures that the final choreography becomes a truly shared community experience.
In addition to folk dance, various age-specific activities were held throughout the camp, focusing primarily on traditional handcrafts and folk culture.
Every evening, the campers concluded their day with live music and a thrilling dance house (táncház).
At the gala performance, parents were able to witness the hard work that had taken place during the camp, which resulted in heart-warming, collaboratively developed choreographies.
