As part of the FolkReAct project, participants enjoyed a week-long, diverse programme at the handhandcrafts camp. The activities began with candle dipping. This time, the children decorated the candles with summer flowers and mastered a new technique: preserving flowers using wax.

They went on an excursion to the Borka Farm, where the activities included archery, horse riding, and swimming.

The leatherworking session was inspired by a trip to the Leather Workshop in Makó. During the activity, they crafted necklaces from leather strips and practiced leather braiding to assemble bracelets.

The children also baked gingerbread in the camp; they carried out every step themselves, from measuring the ingredients and kneading the dough to cutting out the shapes, and they also learned how to make the icing. A huge number of gingerbread biscuits were produced, all of which were decorated and, naturally, tasted.

They collaboratively built rafts out of bulrush, and afterwards, everyone was free to create according to their own imagination using this rare material.

The series of natural materials continued with willow twigs. They crafted wreaths and heart-shaped door decorations from pre-soaked, peeled willow twigs. The door wreaths were then adorned with green foliage and ribbons.

During the handcrafts week, two cantor chairs from the Serbian Church were also restored. This highly practical task was carried out by former students of the Serbian school under the guidance of Krisztifor; following sanding and several layers of painting, the cantor chairs were completely renewed.

The enthusiastic crafters organised an exhibition of their finished items for the camp's closing ceremony. To the great delight of both the creators and their parents, everyone was able to take their handmade pieces home.
