13th Ajvar Festival (14 September 2024)

The 13th Ajvar Festival was held on the second Saturday of September 2024. However, unlike in previous years, the weather was not on the organisers' side this time. Despite the cold, wind, and persistent rain, many people still decided to visit the event, and they certainly did not regret it. Although the tractor competition was cancelled, all other scheduled programmes went ahead.

The ajvar-cooking competition attracted the greatest interest, with numerous teams and groups of friends competing once again to prepare the pepper relish—often called the 'Treasure of the Balkans'—in traditional, spicy, and uniquely seasoned versions. Hungarian, Serbian, mixed, and international teams worked in high spirits, boosted by the Durmisevic brass band, who played tirelessly throughout the day.

The Balkan Terrace was continuously bustling with life, just as the crafters in the tent enjoyed a busy trade. Members of the Association also held workshops for both children and adults.

Delicious food, excellent drinks, wonderful music, and a fantastic atmosphere filled the entire day, crowned by the Folk Fest in the late afternoon. Here, alongside the host association's dancers, invited dance troupes presented their choreographies to great acclaim.

The day concluded with a Balkan Party, where Radovan Marić and his band played well into the night.
