The embroidered headdress known as the 'kapica' is one of the most expressive symbols of Banat Serbian women's identity and cultural heritage, proudly worn in daily life as well as during the community's major celebrations. The ornamentation and material of the headpiece faithfully indicated a woman's marital status and social position. Adapting to its function, everyday pieces were fashioned from durable linen or cotton canvas, festive versions from fine silk, whilst representative items for the winter period were shaped from heavy velvet. The most outstanding gems of these collections are the opulent bridal headdresses. The uniqueness of this artifact group lies in the sculptural gold embroidery: patterns cut from cardboard were fixed onto the base fabric using traditional starch paste, after which the taut metallic threads were stitched down with a fine guide-thread pulled towards the centre of the motif, creating the characteristic embossed texture. 

The compositions were enriched with beads, sequins, and silk embroidery, whose design heritage remains an integral part of regional cultural preservation and contemporary textile art today.
